One.Hundred.Twenty.Four/Three.Six.Five

There have been a lot of people complaining about the summer-winter weather we've been having all week.  Me?  I LOVE IT.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy cold weather, Uggs, sweaters, a warm fireplace.  But low 80's and sunshine?  There is a reason people in San Diego are so content and happy.
I've been taking advantage of the sunshine on my days off and working in our backyard to get the last 2 years of neglect cleaned up.  Today, was all about pressure washing, moving furniture, and wiping away the grime and dirt.
I may have also had the help of a 12 week old Ridgeback, some Hunter boots, a rescue dog named Alf, and Keith Urban.
It was a good day.

One.Hundred.Twenty.Three/Three.Six.Five

Knowing you have Girl Scout cookies as your reward for completing your homework, makes the entire process just a little bit easier to tackle.

One.Hundred.Twenty.Two/Three.Six.Five

I've really stepped back from the business side of photography.  There are many reasons for this, one of them being that sometimes the 'business' can get in the way of the pure love of the hobby - and it begins to make you resent the actual thing you once loved.  In my eyes, when/if this happens that means it is time to take a step back and reassess - hence my Three.Six.Five.
With this being said, there are certain times that when it is asked that I capture a moment for a certain person or family, the answer is a definite OF COURSE.  This was one of those instances.
The fact that this not-so-little beautiful girl is turning 13....the fact that she is my God-daughter....the fact that I've known her mom since she was that same age (and the really odd fact that I felt like I was looking at her Mom through my lens 20-something years ago)....all makes continuing to capture the big moments in their lives that much more meaningful.  I am so proud of the girl she has become and so proud of her Mom for doing such an unbelievable job at being her Mom.
To pick just one (or even two) from this amazing session was near impossible.  So, even though these are two of my favorites, there are so many more.
Happy Birthday Kylenn!!

One.Hundred.Twenty.One/Three.Six.Five

Games are a big deal to our family and an important piece to our family 'togetherness'.  This past Christmas a new game was introduced that we have become somewhat obsessed with - Codenames.  So when Dad was gone for Superbowl fun, and Cheryl joined for a girls' night at home - Codenames was just what the evening had in store.
